In food, drink and agriculture, automation and advanced manufacturing is making manufacturers and processors more competitive, profitable and adding value to north east Scotland's world-class primary produce from land and sea.
Opportunity North East is working with industry and partners to accelerate the development and adoption of technology in the sector. This includes connecting digital and producer communities to develop new solutions that will drive efficiencies, reduce costs and contribute to national net-zero carbon targets.
SeedPod, led by Opportunity North East, will be the go-to hub for food and drink industry growth. The £21 million project – backed by the Aberdeen City Region Deal and funders the UK Government, Scottish Government and Opportunity North East – will inspire market-led innovation in products, manufacturing, processing and packaging and support skills and people development across the supply chain.
This ONE Food, Drink & Agriculture webinar hosted by Neil Freckingham, ONE's Food Hub Director, will bring together north east based food and drink producers with Robert Chapman of Farmlay and Andrew Booth of Oat Co Scotland to explore how the latest digital technologies have been incorporated into their processing operations and what impact this investment has made.
We will also be joined by Ben Stuart of Leap Automation, an Aberdeen-based robotics company providing end-to end-robotic implementation. Leap’s integrated approach, including proprietary robotic manipulators, in-house software and direct sales model, allows them to provide affordable automation. Ben will expand on how they have pivoted their technology towards the food and drink sector.
This webinar is by invitation. For further information please contact Elizabeth Mathie.
