Work has started on two infrastructure projects as part of north east Scotland's ambition to be leading destination for adventure tourism, which is a significant next step to realise this goal.
Almost £400k secured by ONE through the Just Transition Fund for the North East Adventure Tourism project is creating new mountain biking and cycling facilities.
Tarland Development Group is constructing three new mountain bike trails at Tarland Trails 2. Transition Extreme is creating a new pump track at its Aberdeen beachfront site.
“We are so grateful for the funding secured by ONE and NEAT. It's fantastic to secure full funding for our project to build all the planned trails for Aberdeenshire's first trail centre. We look forward to welcoming mountain bikers to the amazing new trails in spring 2023. Hold on until then – it's going to be worth the wait!" said Chris Redmond, Tarland Trails
Ross Blackadder, Transition Extreme, explained: “The pump track will be a vital addition to our facilities and ensure we continue to attract new and existing users to the site and the region.”
