Creating competitive advantage in the low-carbon economy

Achieving net-zero is the defining industry challenge for food and drink businesses. The drive for low-carbon production presents new opportunities to innovate, create commercial advantage, and meet customer and consumer expectations to drive sales.

The North East Scotland Food & Drink Network webinar on 23 November explored the support and funding available to businesses for green business growth and jobs. This included new net-zero sustainability programmes for the sector from Opportunity North East and partners.

The webinar covered the practical steps businesses can take to achieve sustainability, introduced key contacts and partners, and provided sources of support for food and drink manufacturing and production businesses of all sizes. It included contributions from:

  • Peter Cook, Director of Food, Drink & Agriculture, Opportunity North East
  • Amanda Brown, Project Director, The Knowledge Bank
  • Allison MacPherson, Sustainability Specialist, Scottish Enterprise
  • Shona Cherry, Sustainability Adviser, Opportunity North East

You can view the recording of the webinar here. The video case studies shared at the webinar are available below.

For support with low-carbon production and your net-zero journey, please contact Shona Cherry, Sustainability Adviser, at Opportunity North East.

For further information on the North east Scotland Food & Drink Network, please contact Elizabeth Mathie, Project Manager, at Opportunity North East.
