The sixth ONE Life Sciences Leadership Forum will explore the importance of coordinating intellectual property and clinical pathway strategies in relation to product development and company growth.
Whether you are developing a therapeutic, diagnostic or MedTech product, you will have to manage the complex and costly challenges of pursuing IP protection for your technology and your growing brand and setting up a clinical pathway to secure marketing approval for your product.
This session will investigate how to bring these challenges into a coordinated strategy specifically designed to support each other, as well as the broader commercial goals of your company, such as raising investment. The session will include an interactive discussion, work through a scenario based on real-life situations and guidance on how to apply the lessons learned.
Experienced IP attorneys Craig Thomson and Caroline Pigott from leading intellectual property firm HGF, and Nicola Wall, CEO of clinical trials management company Afortiori Development, will guide participants through the session.
Craig is a European, UK and Irish qualified patent attorney and Partner at HGF Limited. He has considerable experience with biotechnological, pharmaceutical, chemical and MedTech inventions.
Caroline is an experienced trade mark attorney and a qualified Scottish IP Solicitor based in HGF's Edinburgh office. She advises companies of all sizes on trade marks, brand protection and commercialisation of IP.
Nicola founded Afortiori Development in 2016 to improve clinical trial design, planning and management to promote efficient and cost-effective clinical trials. Her background within the pharmaceutical, medical technology and healthcare sectors includes over 20 years of experience.
The ONE Life Sciences Leadership Forum supports the industry's ambition to double the number of life sciences companies in north east Scotland. It brings together the region's life sciences community to address growth-related issues, collaborative innovation and commercialisation. Participants are management team members and decision-makers within companies based in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire or academics, clinicians and researchers with interest in life sciences commercialisation. Spaces on the webinars are limited and subject to approval by ONE with preference given to those already working within life sciences businesses.
