The ONE Life Sciences Accelerator helps aspiring sector entrepreneurs plan, launch and grow businesses from their ideas, research and innovation.
Delivered by BioCity, the intensive programme fully funded by Opportunity North East (ONE) has been designed specifically for the life sciences sector. It uses lean start-up methodology and evidence-based entrepreneurship to translate research and ideas into businesses that can deliver new therapies, products and digital solutions.
Researchers, academics, clinicians, and potential entrepreneurs in north east Scotland's high-growth life sciences sector are the programme's target audience. These include people working within companies, the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University, and the NHS, who wish to develop life sciences or healthcare ideas.
By taking part, you will learn how to start-up your business by using a set of proven tools to investigate customers, refine your value proposition, evaluate risks and create a business model that stands up to the scrutiny of potential investors, partners and customers.
You will work one-to-one with your dedicated coach, attend online workshops and complete activities weekly.
You will meet leading figures from the life sciences world who give their time as part of the BioCity Expert Network to offer advice, customer insight and share their experiences of creating and scaling businesses.
The programme's online workshops run for half a day, once a week for eight weeks (10 am to 12 noon on Tuesdays throughout March and April). The one-to-one sessions with coaches and additional work can be done at a time that suits you.
Applicants should be based in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire to qualify for participation in the programme. Applications close at 4 pm on 19 February. Selection interviews will be held online on 22 February.
