Opportunity North East (ONE), in partnership with Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, is supporting The Nuclear Industry Association‘s (NIA) two-day event for companies who wish to explore diversifying into the nuclear decommissioning supply chain.

ONE’s Oil & Gas Sector Board is focused on working with partners on projects and programmes that aim to deliver long term benefits for the region by supporting businesses and organisations with innovative technologies and the best people to help maximise recovery from the UKCS and generate worldwide demand for services and expertise.

This event will include speakers from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), information from the NDA SME Scotland Steering Group which aims to support SME involvement in the industry as well as two SMEs talking about the transferable skills between oil and gas and nuclear decommissioning and how to win business in the sector. On the 7th, there will be a special introductory session for companies who are new to the industry and want to explore the opportunities there are and how to begin to win work. There will also be information from ONE and Scottish Enterprise on support available to companies when diversifying.

7 March Introduction to the Nuclear Industry:

Aimed at at companies who are new to the nuclear sector and wish to  explore opportunities that might fit with their capabilities.

8 March NIA Existing Generation and Nuclear Decommissioning Working Group:

This will provide a window into current and upcoming opportunities available from the NDA, EDF and tier 1s and 2s currently operating in the nuclear sector. Those who come on the 7th are warmly welcome at the event on the 8th which will further their understanding around real opportunities.
